How can I earn more money by being a dental hygienist?
How much more school i would have to take and what do I need to do to get a larger salary. Also how much would I get paid if i live in Bakersfield California. I really want to become one because I always loved studying teeth and cleaning my own teeth but people are saying dont do it and become a registered nurse because hygienist dont make any money and RNs do. So whats the truth, how much do they really make?
Become a nurse. You can make the same if not more and get a job immediately. In some states you cant find a job as a hygienist because there are too many and not enough jobs.
I live in the North East and cant find a job here. I just graduated last may from hygiene school (it takes 2-4 years depending on if you want an associates or bachelors degree, doesnt matter which you get to work for a private dentist).
I am willing to work fulltime and just found a job only working ONE day a week! I cant live off that. I am struggling. I suggest not going for hygiene right now. Choose nursing.
Also hygiene is really stressful on your body. Wrist problems, back problems and sore muscles. It looks easy but isnt.
