Are numbers real natural thing or an invention?
What are numbers in reality?
Are they represented in the nature by any mean, or it is just a human invention?
The same issue with other principles, like "Line, circle, square, addition, multiplying, etc"
Where did these principles come from? are they in nature and we just took them, or we invented them somehow
Number are man made, although we can use numbers to define almost anything.
Specific sequences of numbers do appear in nature, such as the golden ratio, pi or the fibonacci sequence, but these numbers that appear in nature don't really appear, we see them as patterns formed naturally which when humans (pattern seeking beings) use math against we derive a number state for them.
everything you see can be converted into numbers. Computers are based on this, we use numbers to form images ect, but these images just like the numbers are an invention and not real.
The only reason I say that number's are not real though is because there is no such thing as 1 in reality, you can never have 1 object, as the definition of 1 would be defeated.
example: if you had 1 complete orange, then that orange would be used to define what "1 orange" is, that means 1 orange must contain the same weight, same molecules ect. which in reality is impossible and hence 1 orange doesn't exist due to the variability of atoms.
