No actual pictures of transitional forms?
I've been hearing that there is a systimatical record of the transitional forms of the whale, but upon looking for pictures, I only find hand drawn one. My professor clams that it took place over millions of years, and the evolution of a four-legged land animal (variously described as cow-like or wolf-like), into a whale. Surely this incredible transition couldn't take place in just a few steps—legs into flippers, fur into oily skin, etc. Where are the transitional forms? shouldn't we have millions of transitional forms? I believe in God and evolution, but with further review of transitional fossils i almost go towards young earth creation. someone help!? ( where would I get Pics too)
Well, there are no photographs because we didn't exist at the time, and if we had we probably wouldn't have had polaroids.
The fossil record that we have for the transition of whales from (not wolf-like, I assure you) large land mammals into the ocean could be described as spotty by people who aren't confident in evolution as a science. Similarly, the evolution of the modern horse could be described the same. For a very long time, we knew only about early protohorses through their teeth and skull portions (we have since found larger more complete skeletons). But because these teeth indicated various diets, we could begin to think about where these animals would have found those diets, and in what sort of environment, and so on and so forth.
Whales are similar - we have in some cases had a hard time finding complete skeletons of early cetaceans. But you should definitely read here:

And follow the links that exist for the early species.
