Is there a cheaper place in Oakland County, Michigan to spay a cat?
We know we need to get her spayed before her first heat, but we don't have a lot of money. Does the animal shelter offer it cheaper in Oakland County? I'd appreciate answers from anyone who knows first hand.
Some shelters have 'spay days' at reduced rates, but that is often limited in numbers. If you find a place that does it for less than $100, and they are reliable, go for it. A decent but no-frills spay can be had for under $100, since some places add lots of extra's that make the owner feel better, but make little difference for your kitten.
Another thing is to pretend you are looking for a cat (I have provided a link) then call the rescue groups that show up as having cats. Often, they know good vets that will do a spay at the lowest price.
